Oorja is seeking a motivated Sales Officer to join our dynamic sales team in our new business lines. The Solar Engineering Manager will lead the full lifecycle of solar project implementation at Oorja, from system design and technical specifications to installation, operations, and maintenance. The role involves managing a growing team of engineers, ensuring quality control, contributing to procurement decisions, and supporting the deployment of solar irrigation and rooftop solar projects under Oorja’s PPU, FMI, and EPC models. The candidate should have a robust understanding of solar PV systems, practical experience in managing rural installations, and strong people management capabilities.
In this position, you will be joining our Sales and Marketing team in Bahraich, eastern UP. You will be working to increase sales of irrigation and milling services from solar pumps and mills You will also be collecting cash payments from our locally hired Operators and farmers, attending to customer issues, and digitising payment data in Excel. You should be comfortable using email and Microsoft Office and have your own laptop and motorcycle. You will be responsible for all Operators and customers within a defined catchment area in Bahraich district and must be able to motivate and influence others positively.
Oorja is seeking a Digital Transformation Assistant to oversee digital product rollouts for the entire Eastern UP region. You should bring a minimum of 2-4 years of experience working with rural and/or low-income customers, as well as be adept at using a smartphone and learning smartphone apps quickly. You will be stationed in multiple locations across Eastern UP and be expected to travel to cover all of our sites. Your primary responsibilities will be to execute the deployment of digital products on the field, working to train both Oorja team members as well as rural customers. You will also assist the Innovation team in the design and testing phases of developing products, and will also be responsible for identifying and reporting on technical issues in an expedient manner.
As a Farmer Advisor, you will be travelling among Oorja’s rural sites and interacting with farmers on a daily basis. This is a 100% field role and candidates with an agricultural or rural background originating from Uttar Pradesh will be preferred. Your responsibilities will focus on the delivery of farmer advisory services through workshops, field demonstrations and test plots to train them on crop diversification, moving from 2 to 3 cropping seasons, climate resilient agriculture and input preparation. You will also sell soil health testing, inputs and other agricultural products and services to the same farmers. Finally, you will support the other field teams with the collection of customer feedback through surveys and informal interactions, to improve Oorja’s services.
As a Project Assistant, you will be based in Eastern UP or Western Bihar and travelling regularly among Oorja’s prospective rural sites and interacting with farmers on a daily basis. This is a 100% field role and candidates with an agricultural or rural background originating from UP or Bihar will be preferred. You will focus on finding new sites for expanding our solar-powered irrigation, milling, and agronomy advisory services. Your responsibilities be to conduct surveys, mobilise farmers, collect membership fees, negotiate land lease agreements, and assist with other aspects of business development and project implementation. You should own a motorcycle or scooty and have a valid driver’s license. You will be joining a dynamic and international team working together to make a difference in farmers’ income and well-being.
Oorja is seeking a Solar Technician with 2+ years of experience in the solar industry and a diploma in engineering. Your primary responsibilities will be to perform routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on solar irrigation pumping systems, as well as assisting with technical site audits and installation and commissioning of new pumps. The nature of PV systems installed and operated by the company include solar irrigation pumps as well as flour mills. You must be able to work independently to achieve targets within set timelines and be highly motivated by customer satisfaction.
We are looking for an experienced freelance Full-Stack Developer to take on the task of reviewing our current website’s code, optimising its performance, and enhancing its functionality. The current website is not functional / unsatisfactory: this role involves performing a full assessment and making recommendations as to whether to improve the current code, or build a new website within the set time frame.
