Oorja is seeking an Engineering Manager – Solar Irrigation with minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in solar pump installations, operations and maintenance and a university degree in electrical / electronics engineering. You will be primarily responsible for leading site feasibility assessments, system sizing, installation, testing, and commissioning of ground-mounted AC and BLDC solar irrigation systems. You will ensure that civil works, electrical safety, and quality standards are consistently met across all sites. You will lead troubleshooting and repairs, monitor system performance using IoT-based tools, maintain accurate technical logs, and coordinate with equipment suppliers and EPC partners for timely part replacements and warranty support. You will also be responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising field engineers and technicians, and supporting engineering planning and cost optimisation. This is a field-intensive role reporting directly to the COO. You must be able to work independently to achieve targets within set timelines and be highly motivated by customer satisfaction.
As a Business Development Officer, you will be based in Eastern UP or Western Bihar and travelling regularly among Oorja’s prospective rural sites and interacting with farmers on a daily basis. This is a 100% field role and candidates with an agricultural or rural background originating from UP or Bihar will be preferred. You will focus on finding new sites for expanding our solar-powered irrigation and agronomy advisory services. Your responsibilities are to conduct surveys, mobilise farmers, collect membership fees, negotiate land lease agreements, and assist with other aspects of business development and project implementation. You should own a motorcycle or scooty and have a valid driver’s license. You will be joining a dynamic and international team working together to make a difference in farmers’ income and well-being.
In this position, you will be joining our Customer Success team in Eastern UP. You will be working to increase sales of irrigation and milling services from solar pumps and mills You will also be collecting cash payments from our locally hired Operators and farmers, attending to customer issues, and digitising payment data in Excel. You should be comfortable using email and Microsoft Office and have your own laptop and motorcycle. You will be responsible for all Operators and customers within a defined catchment area and must be able to motivate and influence others positively.
