The customer pays for the installation of the solar water pumping system under the EPC model, hence the asset belongs to the customer. The ownership is transferred to the user upon payment of capital. The consumer makes the upfront payment for the assets, installation, and commissioning.
In this model, consumers own the system, fund it, and consume the energy/water generated, so the consumer is responsible for the risks associated with the operation, management, and maintenance of the system. Often the consumer finances this through bank funding. However, in this model, the owner has the maximum risk.
Benefits to Clients
Own the system and control your resources.
A valuable asset that boosts your business sustainability.
Harness the power of the sun for eco-friendly irrigation.
In the FMI model, the customer does not have to make the entire payment upfront, as is required in the EPC model. The FMI model requires the client to pay for the solar water pump in equal monthly installments over a set period of time. Initially, Oorja will have the ownership (title) of the system. Following full payment of the system cost, including any applicable service charge, complete ownership is passed to the consumer.
Benefits to Clients
Pay in smaller, manageable monthly installments instead of a large upfront cost.
Start using the solar water pump without having to wait to save up the full amount
The Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) model is a contractual arrangement in which a company (Oorja) designs, constructs, and operates a project for a specified period of time, before transferring ownership of the project to the customer. BOOT models are often used for large infrastructure projects, such as toll roads, power plants, and water treatment facilities. The company usually charges for the project output from the user(s) for a certain period of time before transferring it to the user. In agriculture pumps, a similar model can be applied.
