Since 2022, Oorja has been delivering Climate Smart Farm Advisories to smallholder farmers in its operational areas. The primary objective of these sessions is to raise awareness about climate-smart agricultural practices and encourage their adoption to improve crop yields and thereby increase income.

I received high-quality seeds and training provided by Oorja. Within just two months, I have grown 15+ kgs of each new variety of vegetables like bottle gourd, peas, and okra. This not only helped me feed my entire family but also earn income by selling it in the market.
Last year, following an agricultural advisor's suggestion, I began making vermicompost and applied it to my potato crop with excellent results, reducing chemical fertiliser use. Since then, I’ve produced about three quintals of vermicompost and used it on my paddy and maize crops. I also transplanted paddy in one bigha using the SRI method, yielding 4 quintals and 80 kg, compared to 4 quintals and 8 kg from traditional planting.
