In this position, you will be joining our Sales and Marketing team in Bahraich, eastern UP. You will be working to increase sales of irrigation and milling services from solar pumps and mills You will also be collecting cash payments from our locally hired Operators and farmers, attending to customer issues, and digitising payment data in Excel. You should be comfortable using email and Microsoft Office and have your own laptop and motorcycle. You will be responsible for all Operators and customers within a defined catchment area in Bahraich district and must be able to motivate and influence others positively.
The candidate must have at least 3-4 years of experience in a sales role in the solar PV sector. You will initially work on two product segments: solar irrigation pumps, and residential solar rooftop projects. Key responsibilities include strategy development, business planning, identifying and qualifying customers, sales and marketing, developing and pitching techno-commercial proposals, obtaining regulatory approvals, government liaison for subsidy disbursements, financier liaison for funding arrangements, and overseeing successful execution and revenue realisation for on/off-grid solar projects.

You will work on generating leads, preparing proposals, providing customer service, and promoting residential solar rooftop projects under PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. You must have at least 1 year of work experience in a sales role and a passion for the solar industry. Oorja is seeking a Developer to join our Innovation team remotely. The Innovation team works primarily to build solutions that drive operational efficiency, provide digital access to rural users, and expand the scope of Oorja’s impact. The primary responsibilities will be to build end-to-end products across business verticals, such as customer-facing and internal tools, databases, pipelines, and dashboards. You will be exposed to a wide array of technologies across the tech stack and must be willing to learn and adapt quickly in a Rapid Application Development environment. You must have high attention to detail, solid analytical and problem-solving skills, and an ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting. Candidates must have demonstrated skill in at least two of the following domains: software development, product development, data science and analytics (including AI/ML), backend engineering, data engineering, and cloud development.
Oorja is seeking a Digital Transformation Assistant to oversee digital product rollouts for the entire Eastern UP region. You should bring a minimum of 2-4 years of experience working with rural and/or low-income customers, as well as be adept at using a smartphone and learning smartphone apps quickly. You will be stationed in multiple locations across Eastern UP and be expected to travel to cover all of our sites. Your primary responsibilities will be to execute the deployment of digital products on the field, working to train both Oorja team members as well as rural customers. You will also assist the Innovation team in the design and testing phases of developing products, and will also be responsible for identifying and reporting on technical issues in an expedient manner.
We are looking for a Sales Associate to oversee service sales and utilisation for the entire Eastern UP region. You should bring a minimum of 3-4 years of sales experience, preferably selling services to rural or low-income customers. You will be stationed in multiple field locations and cover all of our sites (currently: 152 solar projects) in eastern UP. You will lead the team’s efforts in promoting irrigation and milling service sales and be responsible for meeting utilisation and sales targets. The focus will be on delivery of pushing up monthly sales at existing solar irrigation projects, supervising Operators, and leading rural marketing efforts. Prior knowledge of billing/payment options and POS systems suited to under-banked customers will be an advantage. You should have excellent spoken and written communication skills in Hindi.
As a Farmer Advisor, you will be travelling among Oorja’s rural sites and interacting with farmers on a daily basis. This is a 100% field role and candidates with an agricultural or rural background originating from Uttar Pradesh will be preferred. Your responsibilities will focus on the delivery of farmer advisory services through workshops, field demonstrations and test plots to train them on crop diversification, moving from 2 to 3 cropping seasons, climate resilient agriculture and input preparation. You will also sell soil health testing, inputs and other agricultural products and services to the same farmers. Finally, you will support the other field teams with the collection of customer feedback through surveys and informal interactions, to improve Oorja’s services.
As a Project Assistant, you will be based in Eastern UP or Western Bihar and travelling regularly among Oorja’s prospective rural sites and interacting with farmers on a daily basis. This is a 100% field role and candidates with an agricultural or rural background originating from UP or Bihar will be preferred. You will focus on finding new sites for expanding our solar-powered irrigation, milling, and agronomy advisory services. Your responsibilities be to conduct surveys, mobilise farmers, collect membership fees, negotiate land lease agreements, and assist with other aspects of business development and project implementation. You should own a motorcycle or scooty and have a valid driver’s license. You will be joining a dynamic and international team working together to make a difference in farmers’ income and well-being.
Oorja is seeking a Solar Technician with 2+ years of experience in the solar industry and a diploma in engineering. Your primary responsibilities will be to perform routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on solar irrigation pumping systems, as well as assisting with technical site audits and installation and commissioning of new pumps. The nature of PV systems installed and operated by the company include solar irrigation pumps as well as flour mills. You must be able to work independently to achieve targets within set timelines and be highly motivated by customer satisfaction.
